What we do

We’re ensuring that everything mined overseas and imported as a product into the U.S. is recovered, recycled, and refined to build a stockpile of critical materials.


Our integrated process involves recycling batteries at end-of-life, refining their critical minerals, and manufacturing critical materials for the U.S. supply chain.

Redwood recovers over 20 GWh of lithium-ion batteries each year—from production scrap, battery packs, and consumer devices—producing more than 60,000 tons of critical materials annually.

We recover more than 95% of critical materials—lithium, nickel, cobalt, and copper—from products already out there.

Redwood is the first commercial-scale nickel, lithium, and cobalt source (mined or otherwise) to open in the U.S. in decades.

Why we do it

Batteries contain even higher concentrations of nickel, cobalt, lithium, and copper than mined ores. Already imported in our consumer products, they now form a strategic U.S. stockpile of critical materials we're able to recover.
